WITH YOU AGAIN

by Julian Ashbourn

In the morning, when the sun is on the rise
And the colours of the world burst into life before my eyes
There’s a sadness, creeps in the picture too
I only feel it when I’m not with you

In the evening, when the stars are shining bright
And the moon looks down upon the world and bathes it in its light
There’s a magic, that’s felt the whole world through
But I don’t feel it when I’m not with you

And the stars are shining like they did before
But I don’t have all the answers anymore
I don’t know how and why
And I don’t know if and when
I just know that, I’d like to be with you again

And now I’ve told you, the way I feel inside
The many things my heart desires, in truth I cannot hide
But most important, before my life is through
I’d like to spend a few more hours with you
