Redrock (Carson City Field Office, Bureau of Land Management): 6,200 acres at 10 percent contained. This is 25 miles northwest of Reno. Residences are threatened and evacuations are in effect.

Nevada Gov Vetoes Bill 394 Requiring Registration of OHV Vehicles

On May 26, 2009, Governor Jim Gibbons of Nevada vetoed Nevada Senate Bill 394, “requiring certain owners of off-highway vehicles to obtain certificates of title and registration for those vehicles” and which would have required the Department of Motor Vehicles to charge and collect the fees.

Kershaw-Ryan Campground (NV) Opening March 30, 2009

CALIENTE, Nev. – A new 15 unit campground at Kershaw-Ryan State Park will open Monday, March 30, 2009.
