Total Park Closures – 70
On May 13th, the Department of Parks and Recreation released their proposed list of park closures due to a $22 million general fund budget cut. This list may grow, depending on the Governor’s May Budget Revision.

So, since these parks are closed; our taxes will decrease, right?
How about these morons in politics take a 50% pay cut? (That’ll happen)…
WOW!!! My favorite park, Mt. Cuyamaca, is lukily, not closing. It is beautiful. Tanaja is also beautiful. Wow. SO SO SAD! I hate that Jerry Brown!! What an idiotic jerk, closing all these parks. Just stinkn’ charge!! Charge 35 bucks a night, and then you will make the money VERY quickly!!!!!!!!!!!
Outrageous! Surely funds can be found elsewhere. What’s next? Clear-cutting the forests? Don’t do this to us. That land belongs to us all.
This is outrageous. We know there is a budget crisis but how much will these closures actually save? While the savings make up just a small fraction of the State debt, the loss of these valuable recreational resources is huge – particularly for already hard hit middle and lower income families. Please reconsider closure of these state parks.
