Balloon FestivalTwo new balloon festivals have been scheduled for January, 2007: the Ford Trucks Red, White & Blue Polo and Balloon Festival in Indio, California on January 5-7, 2007 and Ford Trucks Red, White & Blue Balloon Festival in Las Vegas on January 13, 14, 2007. Each of these events is a fundraiser for the families of our service men and women serving overseas from Twenty-nine Palms Marine Corp Base and Nellis Air Force Base. The Indio balloon festival is the third largest special shape balloon festival and the Las Vegas festival is the second largest special shape balloon festival. The only special shape event larger is the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque.

Each event will feature seventeen to twenty-two special shape balloons and forty regular shape balloons.

In Indio, festivities include three balloon races, four polo games, balloon rides, two balloon glows, vendor village and food. Two locations will be used, Fantasy Springs Resort Casino and the Eldorado Polo Club. In Las Vegas, festivities include two balloon glows, tethered balloon rides, music, remote control balloons, games, vendor village, and food. All activities will be held at Sam Boyd Stadium. Admission is free to both events with a donation to the families of service men and women serving overseas.


Ford Trucks Red, White & Blue Polo & Balloon Festival

El Dorado Polo Club celebrates its 50th Anniversary with the Ford Trucks Red, White & Blue Polo and Balloon Festival. The Festival is the third largest special shape balloon festival in the country. Eighteen special shape balloons and forty race balloons will compete for $20,000 in cash and prizes.

This star-studded weekend will feature celebrities on the polo field and above. Expected attendance is 50,000. Festivities will begin on Friday January 5th, as 60 plus hot air balloons will take off with Balloon Sponsors from Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. On Saturday morning January 6th the balloons will take off at 6:30 AM from Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, followed by exciting polo games and Balloon Glow at the El Dorado Polo Club.


On Sunday, January 7th the balloons will take off at 6:30 AM from Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. Additional festivities include the Eldorado Polo Club 50th Anniversary high goal polo match, fifty horse polo pony charge, formal luncheon, and fashion show in the afternoon. A second spectacular balloon glow will be held at 5:00 PM at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.

An event for the entire family is coming to Sam Boyd Stadium on January 13 and 14, 2007. The Ford Trucks Red, White & Blue Balloon Festival will feature twenty-five special shape balloons and forty race balloons, making it the second largest Special Shape Balloon Festival in the country.

Expected attendance is 50,000.

Of the twenty five special shape balloons, attendees will see the Energizer Bunny, an Eagle, the Meadow Gold flying cow "Airabelle", two Bees, a Beaver, Smokey the Bear, a Pumpkin, a Gargoyle, a Football, ReMax Soaring House, a Soccer Ball, United Van Lines Moving Van, Hopper T. Frog, Noah's Ark, a Daisy, Woodrow the Tree and many more. The average height of these balloons is nine stories tall. The Energizer Bunny balloon is taller than the Statue of Liberty and its head is bigger than the heads on Mount Rushmore.

Eagle Special Shape Balloon

This star-studded weekend will feature celebrities on the launch field and above. Expected attendance is 50,000. Two Balloon Glows will be held on Saturday January 13th and Sunday January 14th. Each day the 12-acre grass field at Sam Boyd Stadium will be filled with hot air balloons. Festivities begin at 3:00 PM with tether rides, music, remote control balloons, food and vendor village.

The first balloons to inflate will be the special shape balloons followed by the sport balloons. From 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM all seventy balloons will be tethered as they light their burners to create an awe-inspiring light show. Guests are invited on to the field where they can walk among these illuminated giants.

Balloons with burners lit are an awe-inspiring sight.

Admission is free to all events with a donation to the families of service men and women from Nellis Air Force Base serving overseas.
