Re: The FACTS Behind Jesuit Rules, Mines, and Treasures

Joe/Wayne-SomeHiker/Beth: Sorry for not responding earlier to all of your comments regarding De Grazia's map/sketch. Traveling back and forth from Africa to Arizona keeps me busy. Let me respond to each of the main issues (palo fierro/ironwood; pescado agua/fish creek; whether the sketch was made by...

Re: The FACTS Behind Jesuit Rules, Mines, and Treasures

Hello Jim & All: I found a Ted De Grazia Jesuit treasure map drawing that I have not seen before. This is not the same sketch or drawing as in the famous book “De Grazia and His Mountain The Superstitions”, page 21. which has been reproduced in this forum before. The map/drawing by De Grazia tha...

Re: TOP 5 BOOKS ON LDM

Greetings to all:
The best book on the LDM, in my humble newbie opinion, will be THE book written by Mr Jim Hatt.

Re: Peralta stones Lost dutchman mine.

Greetings to all: Another reason that Google Earth is not helpful is because the Jesuits did not have capability to "see" the area from above, like from an airplane or hot air balloon. Google Earth will give you the perspective from high above. Therefore, the stone maps could not have been...

Re: Jesuit Treasure in the Superstitions

Paul: I agree with you regarding The Lost City of Z. The better (and original) book is Exploration Fawcett. Exploration Fawcett was written by Colonel Fawcett's son based on his father's notes and letters. Exploration Fawcett includes some of his sources for the City of Z. The Lost City of Z left ma...

Re: Jesuit Treasure in the Superstitions

Mike: Thank you for sharing this information. It is very interesting that this story concerns “old priests”, possibly Jesuits. This story maybe the one depicted in De Grazia’s painting of the Jesuits carrying treasure into the Superstition Mountains (as seen in his book, De Grazia and His Mountain –...
