Re: Emil and Julia Thomas Bakery

cubfan64 yes I see your point and it certainly has to be considered. Im not sure I totally agree with you but I don't know the Ely book very well so can't say what all else was right or wrong. i know there are some things in it he got very wrong but that doesn't mean everything else was wrong to. So...

Re: Emil and Julia Thomas Bakery

oazarker, I have to disagree with you on some things. Not the research you have done but the way you misrepresent things. You say the request for the directery was denied. no it wasn't, it was given in detail. Meyer city and business directory for 1891. I don't know how it could be more clear than t...

Re: Emil and Julia Thomas Bakery

" Yes, there's always the possibility that Julia could have been "running" both businesses for some reason - that's always a possibility, not probably, but possible. However, as I said, Ely stated she had that lease, and I don't believe she did." I dont know much about the matter...

Re: Emil and Julia Thomas Bakery

Matthew, I think something you said is probably more important than all the research data presented here. " No one says you have to hold a lease to be working in a store so researching leases and deeds will not give you 100% of the picture." That is absolutely true. When I was young I work...

Re: Emil and Julia Thomas Bakery

Ozarker Thanks for your opinion. However it is an opinion and not shared by everyone. I think your taking this way out into left field. Ely printed what he thought was correct, nobody took it and ran with it, thats yopur opinion and once more not shared by everyone. To me it seems Ely was correct, y...

Re: Emil and Julia Thomas Bakery

A lot of information to read for sure. Confuseing but in the end I don't think Ely lied as has been said here. He was specific about the location and the location is without doubt 21 E Washengton street on the south side of Washington street. I don't believe anyone ever said Julia Tomas ever owned t...

Re: PSM and Weaver's Needle

PBFred, Hooch, Dynamite has been used on the Needle in the past and the 1881 earthquake probably shook some loose rocks down, but all those places show up as new scars on the Needle and change of color in the rock. I don't quite understand what you are saying Hooch. Do you mean someone dynamited Wea...

Re: Peralta Stones connection with the LDM?

Hello somehiker, The small article about Ramon Grijalva and the stone tablets didn't say how many stones he brought back to Phoenix but it was at least 2 because the article read, "stones", that could mean 2 or possibly more. It said he returned from Altar Sonora with them but that does no...
