Re: Ocotillo wind farm

I feel strongly both ways on this project. I don't think that wind power is ready for primetime yet, but I think continued development is necessary. Hopefully this is being undertaken with private funds, but something tells me that left out of the article was the amound of government subsidies invol...

Re: Our Governor at work

Can anyone say ludicrous? With the loss of electrical capasity, the decades it will take to restore the land, the cost in tax dollars and the impact on the economy I just can't see them doing this.

Re: Freedom of speach moderated?

Allen, Sal's opinions are just as welcome here as yours are. To the best of my memory, I have never seen one of his posts reported for being impolite, vulgar, vicious or attacking. He could be totally WRONG, (I do not personally agree with all of his opinions) but as long as he presents them in a r...

Re: New Mexico launches OHV abuse hotline

A toll free reporting system allows for land use agencies to identify and verify where the actual problems exist without using precious EMS and LE resources needlessly. How do you figure that they can "identify and verify" by phone? The reporters are going to be very subjective. There wil...

Re: New Mexico launches OHV abuse hotline

Reptilist, I will have to respectfully disagree - on whether or not it applies. When everything becomes illegal, then, everyone will be a scofflaw. Here is some news on the homefront: http://www.citizen-times.com/article/20100218/NEWS01/100218038/1009 Beth (Mrs. O) Protection of our "wild valu...

Re: New Mexico launches OHV abuse hotline

Technology changing our relationship to one another? Nah... ...next thing you know they'll be using vibration detectors to keep people out of Air Force installations that don't exist in, say, Nevada or some such place. And yes, I know this comment is completely off the wall... ;) Desertroad Off the...

Re: New Mexico launches OHV abuse hotline

Having spent 2 decades in the healthcare profession, I have yet to see an ER closed due to "911/EMS system abuse". I have seen hospitals go on diversion due to a heavy census of actual patients though. How many ER's are there in LA county right now compared to 10 or 15 years ago? Most of ...

Re: New Mexico launches OHV abuse hotline

I don't believe that applies in this case. Dirt bike riding scofflaws should be turned in just like any other criminals. Whats next? We shouldn't turn in child molesters and rapists because the long arm of the law might eyeball my Playboy collection? (No I don't have a Playboy collection...honest.....

Re: New Mexico launches OHV abuse hotline

While I hate to see people who ruin things, I'm going to play devil's advocate for just a moment and site this: First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a communist; Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unioni...
