Re: National Monuments designations
Greetings all! It's been quite a while. I've lurked a bit, but have been very busy at work (knock on wood), plus my wife's mom passed away - still dealing with that. Regarding National Monument designations: I'd like to hear from the gallery (peanut or otherwise) what anyone has heard about the poss...

Re: Ocotillo Wind Express Energy Project
Since we're barely halfway through the industrial revolution, references to and comparisons with horseless carriages are beyond silly. Come back and post after the bio-tech revolution allows us to absorb the Q-DUSA (Q for Quantum) Forums via direct Grey-Matter Net, the eventual successor to the arch...

Re: K9 on patrol at Imperial Sand Dunes
Dear kindly Sergeant Krupke, You gotta understand, It's just our bringin' up-ke That gets us out of hand. Our mothers all are junkies, Our fathers all are drunks. Golly Moses, natcherly we're punks! Gee, Officer Krupke, we're very upset; We never had the love that ev'ry child oughta get. We ain't no...

Re: K9 on patrol at Imperial Sand Dunes
My opinions are biased on this subject. Having recently worked with Federal Law Enforcement, I can say that I have seen that there is a LOT of extra work involved with being a K9 officer. And extra love...and extra, extra sorrow when a K9 is injured or lost in the line of duty. On the other hand, if...

Re: WEMO
I agree that this forum does not have a formal place in the decision-making process but I still believe that our dialogues and exchanges play a role in what happens in the Desert Southwest of the United States. As of this writing this thread has had only 8 replies but 295 views. To me, that's import...

Re: WEMO
Jeeze Louise! Is it really that dead here on DUSA, or is it something I said? I guess I'll just have to have a discussion with myself. That's not the same as, uh, "amusing" myself. No pix of me in a speedo, ala Tradclimber. But, really, no one has anything to add to a discussion of WEMO? M...

Re: WEMO
I am in agreement that litigation is not constructive to the land management process. As far as the BLM is concerned, I believe that we, the tax-paying public, should not just blame our land management agencies for decisions that we do not like. When I say I thought the BLM could have done different...
