The last week of June my wife and I will be going to visit her relatives in Pinetop/Lakeside. (just southeast of Show Low). I've never been to that area of Az. We want to do some camping, fishing, hiking, exploring, etc. Does anybody have any suggestions of what of what to see and experience in the ...

Hi Mrs. O! The surviving baby is doing very well. The camera owner has done all he can do to prevent this from happening again. The baby (named Hoku) is looking good and healthy and will soon leave the nest. Thanks for asking---Mike C.---by the way, my last name is Crowe

Re: Live Hummingbird Web Cam (nice camera-good color)
Unfortunately the nest was attacked this morning. The camera owner was contacted at work and rushed home, enabling him to save one of the babies. He is currently searching for the other one with no avail. Heard "crunching sound" in the background and the caws of crows. Sad, but a good less...

Re: Live Hummingbird Web Cam (nice camera-good color)
Thanks you guys! The coolest thing to me is my oldest son (26) sent this link to me. All those years of "dragging" the kids out to enjoy what we all enjoy was at the most boring thing that could happen to them. Being away from technology, etc. often made frustrating times. Now they see the...

MMM, I have to disagree with you. Sandman was right on point as YES, common sense required. Where is this so called "knee jerk" crap mentioned? I don't recall Sandman dwelling on that. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I understood his position on the subject. Mike C.

Re: Rep on the water. Circa 1984..
Nice pics; I'm familiar with Bartlett Lake. For many years my wife and I would camp on the shore of Apache Lake. Nobody crowding you as you enjoy camping along the shore with the trees as well. We would rent a boat for a few days that we could keep beached right at our camp. They even provide you wi...

Re: Agua Caliente County Park
Space Cowboy, I have never been there, but from what I have read I think all of you will enjoy it. Not sure of the etiquette but it sounds family friendly. They have both indoor and outdoor natural hot-water pools including an indoor spa. They also have a playground, rec. hall and campfire circle. N...

Re: Desert Living.
Welcome to DUSA. Many good people here. Back in the 70's the girl who is still my wife introduced me to the desert. As far as I was concerned the desert sucked; everything is out to get you one way or another (wildlife, plants, etc.). I soon "tuned in" to reality as I found myself loving th...

Thanks Steve S. I had to find out the hard way! Live and learn. In other words we found out by going to Penny's---ouch! We were comped by the motel, but should of gone to Peggy Sue's. Had a good time in the desert anyway---that's what counts. Mike C. Brea, Ca.
