Re: Doodles made by Jacob Waltz
Wayne great time lines, what about another (Spanish family) before the Peralta's maybe making the find and because of the danger only shortly mining it or planning to but never did mine it. There is something I have found that points possibly to an earlier group of Spaniards. Could the stones, fish...

Re: Doodles made by Jacob Waltz
Wayne I think the mines were first mined by the original Family's at least they knew were the gold or gold to mined was. . And later by the Peralta's. I think it was Choto who stated that the Peralta's were basically peons, I thought the power after Keno was Jaun Peralta and he was the local Lt Vic...

Re: Doodles made by Jacob Waltz
Reavis wrote in his confession, that he had done the research in Spain, and that the Peralta lineage had died there, and that those using the name in Mexico, Arizona, New Mexico and California were actually servants who had assumed the Peralta name. But, that came from Reavis. I think it comes down...

Re: Doodles made by Jacob Waltz
A better map with which to compare the PF map is this topo...... http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/topo/arizona/pclmaps-topo-az-roosevelt-1907.jpg As you can see, the Salt River makes a much tighter hairpin turn where it exits the canyon at Mormon Flats. I'm sure that anyone who had spent time, especia...

Re: Doodles made by Jacob Waltz
One possible connection would be the Peraltas reopening older mines, perhaps Jesuit mines or mines worked for the SOJ.. I mean... Realistically, how long would it take for a party of Peralta prospectors to find just one potential site. What about nine or even 18? Compare this to the SOJ who had tim...

Re: Doodles made by Jacob Waltz
Wayne I was thinking about our team going to the Supers this time and how 2 are US Marshall's and another team member is a capt and heads up a swat team. This made me start thinking about how many people past and present involved in looking for The LDM have been in law enforcement (Sargent Frank), ...

Re: Doodles made by Jacob Waltz
Jeff: Yes, I would date the PF map to somewhere in the early 1800's, but it's not done in the way that Jesuit maps of the Spanish Colonial period were.....so no Jesuit connection there, IMO. Nor anything that I can see or know of, that would link it to the stone maps at the museum. And even if the s...

Re: Doodles made by Jacob Waltz
Wayne I think I have not over stated, but that I need to pull back on info. And I mean this with all due respect to yourself. And as I have said this before, you are the one poster that lets just say(like the Priest arm motion and direction) continues to say things that are more correct than not. I...

Re: Doodles made by Jacob Waltz
Ok Jeff. Can you post a listing of the names of those 15 familys you mention, or a limk to the source of your information about the grants you mention ? I've never looked into this royal grant history before, and I'm sure sure it would be interesting to others as well....particularly that of any doc...
