Re: Petroglyph thief
This truly sickens and saddens me! I cherish and relish petroglyphs! It's one of my hobbies to seek out, observe, and revel in the ancient history recorded on the desert murals. I simply cannot comprehend the selfish reasoning of the thieves! I sometimes sit and ponder the folks who came before us a...

Re: Humboldt County, Nevada
There are Joshua Trees east of Tonopah, north of the test range, if you know where to look! They are the northern most-located Joshua Trees of all.

Re: Baby Marian - 1931
SPACE COWBOY, Interesting story, I'm going to read-up on it in detail. I wanted to ask you; is that avatar picture of yours a picture of an area just south of route 66, near Valentine,AZ.?? It looks like an area which Wright Creek drains into. Just very curious, please answer when you can, thanks.

Re: Global Warming is a Fraud
Everyone surely remembers being taught in school about the Bering Strait. Its now under water, as we all know. Ancient man, in cooler climates, walked across the land bridge and most probably populated what is now North America. This occurred during a time where there was the cyclical "global c...

Re: Report links OHV activity to air pollution
Sal should get a "THRILL" from this this idiot's rantings... The only realistic long term strategy is to work towards a total ban on Thrillcraft. Use of land based machines like dirt bikes, four wheelers, swamp buggies, dune buggies, and the like should be banned from all public lands, ex...

Re: Report links OHV activity to air pollution
It's not the OHV's Sal, it's your dog. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/1999/12/991206071651.htm Later, PBiZ Pharo, You forgot to mention the EPA wanting to tax farmers on cow poop emissions. Now they want "dog control" as well as smog control. This is really getting out of hand. What...

Re: Winter Hiking
FYI; The north rim of the grand canyon is not accessible in the winter. The access road is closed at Jacob Lake until spring due to snow. (mid-May). A person could conceivably walk past the barriers I reckon, but it would be a long, long cold walk to say the least.

Re: Global Warming is a Fraud
I'm glad we finally have the evidence that shows what a crock this hysteria has been! Many of us have been saying it all along, but confirmation is definitely sweet! Hey Kevin, that's great that you went solar, how much would it cost, approximately, to add solar to a large 2 bedroom house? I'd love ...

Re: The Mojave Desert tortoise population is losing ground
Sal, I did some research regarding the URDS organism. It appears that its a bacteria, NOT a virus. There is a significant difference between a virus and a bacterium. A virus cannot be cured. In fact NO virus can be cured. Bacteria however, CAN be cured. If money was spent on isolating exactly, the b...

Re: The Mojave Desert tortoise population is losing ground
There is some politicization of scientific issues. Probably always will be on both sides of the issues. However, Brew makes a good point. Why isn't something done to help minimize disease and predation of the tortoise? My guesses would be; too expensive, issues not sensational enough for media cover...
