Incidentally, what was the reason for the drill hole in the rock just to the left of the Sahuar. in picture no,5 in series 4?

It does not have the look of a fence anchor to me Jerry, but I have to admit that if I would have seen it out there, I would have had to have taken a photo of it too!

It's hard to imagine how nature could have formed it, yet it doesn't look man-made either.

It's not a desert Plant or Animal, but I'll bet that if Terry (Reptilist) sees it, he will come up with an appropriate name for it.

Best,

Jim

That is a "croc rock". They can be just as lethal as the reptilian kind, but fortunately they move a whole lot slower.

Terry, how lethal can that "croc rock" be without teeth?

That there "croc rock" has the appearance of having suffered from massive "shock" therapy.Could be the result of a dynamite blast, either roadbuilding or a quarry.May even be a mine uphill?
Was it found at any of these locations Jerry?

No mine that I saw - The croc was on a ridge close to this eye catcher...

This rock formation was interesting to me due to different colors of lichen on its north side. It may have been moved or turned sometime in its past. :?:
