To All,
I'm still waiting to hear from the federal government if they are going to give me the okay to legally mine the Lost Dutchmen Mine. If they would grant me this. I would secretly find out who some of you guys were here in this forum. And find out where you had your home mortgage, and on the day before Christmas, go down and pay the mortgage off. Of course you'll need to live in Arizona.

Brad,

Again, forgive me - we have been out in the mountains since October, so internet time is sketchy, at best, and few and far between.

No, I wasn't referring to the Miller mines - geesh, 2 years ago, you could barely find them - grown over and sediment falling in (actually dangerous, because they aren't marked on the new maps, and all the rain 2 years ago grew the stuff up very high).

No, I was speaking of a group of guys who were scouring the area by the old Bilbrey area - I was told that "they" were looking for a potential shaft, and had been looking for quite some time this past year. (didn't directly talk to them, but another guy who had been out there not too far away from that area). We try not to disturb other folks. :D

I've been following your posts, as best as I can - waiting to hear - and hoping, there are pictures!!!

Mrs. O,
I think your talking about the the South West corner of Tortilla Mountains and maybe the Tortilla Ranch area. I don't know anything about that area.

To all,
Here is a rough copy of a mining symbol inside the mine.

If you aren't familiar with Bilbrey, here is a link you can read from Jim Hatt about it.

You will see that the claim filed was down Peter's Canyon Trail. (not near Tortilla Ranch, but, you do have to pass it).

The map is no longer on the site, but, the claim papers are.

So, I guess that wasn't you guys down there.

I sure hope that it is found before I die - I'd hate to find out where it is after!!!

Good Luck,

Mrs.O

Mrs. O,
Thank you for the information on the Bilbrey claim. I won't ever be going to it, but it's good to know about it. Mrs. O, I always travel in and out of the Superstitions alone. From the very first hike in the Superstitions years ago, I have always done it that way, that's just the way I am. You see, there is a lot less to worry about. And if you are in good physical shape and your careful you'll have no problems. Mrs. O, you stated " I sure hope that it is found before I die - I'd hate to find out where it is after!!! ". Mrs. O, The Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine is in safe hands and has been for years. If the government ever lets me file a claim on the mine, you'll know my last name. I would like to pay off some of these folks mortgages that are here in this forum. Help them out. These people have looked for years. It's not easy in the Superstition Mountains. Here is something to think about. There is enough gold in the mine to easily buy every house in Scottsdale. And if the price of gold keeps going up like I think it will, you can buy every house in Maricopa County and still live very comfortable. I'm not on here for fame or glory. As far as I'm concerned, I will always keep a very low profile. And I will probably never meet any people in this forum. It's a lot easier life style that way, less to worry about.
