The walls inside are very soft. If you brake off a chunk you can crumble that chunk in your hands into small 1/4 inch gravel.

Neat find Kurt - be careful in there though if the walls are that crumbly!!

HAHAHA I am almost never carefull but I am cautious. I found another possible hidden shaft about 1/2 a mile from this tunnel. I followed ducks from the tunnel to the possible shaft. I am going to uncover it this holiday season. From the small hill that is the tailing pile it might be fairly deep.

Beats the he-- out of the "Google Earth" and "I read about it in a Story" or the "I saw it in a dream" kind of prospecting!

This is one of the covered over holes. Its hard to see in this photo.

This is the main spot of interest. This photo is looking down into the pit and the stack of bulders covers the entrance. It looks like they had started a pit and then went in on a angle. This spot is high on the side of a cliff. I am going back this weekend to break the huge boulders so they can be moved.

This wall I found straight below the pit mine and also 100 feet from the first photo of the covered prospect. All these mines are almost straigh in a row about three miles from the first tunnel I found.

This is interesting I thought I would include it into the thread. It can be seen from both the prospects.
