Very sorry for Kenny's family and friends - closure doesn't make up for the loss.

As many of us know - it is just so easy to get into trouble, even when very experienced.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kenny Clark and his family and friends.

Hi Kurt, sounds good. I've been doing some changes which are for the better. Changed jobs, working 3 12s now. Also bought a SPOT and got my general ham radio license. I have a small handheld 70cm/2m that I've been able to reach out from deep in the Supes. This week I'm starting a scuba class with my wife as we prepare for a vacation in the Caribbean in Aug. Shoot me an email.

Update on autopsy for found hiker. It has happened to me before and very important that others take heed. Three years in a row very close to this date people went missing. Myself in July 2011, the three missing hikers in July 2010. I was one of the lucky ones who found water in First Water Creek. I was very close to death and ended up crawling when I found the water. Hiking alone is the number one thing you can never do.

I don't recall which news story mentioned it, but I thought I had read where another hiker had seen Kenny at one point and he appeared to be in trouble and disoriented. If that's true, I can't imagine how horrible that person feels knowing they had an opportunity to help him out in some way - either by sharing water or getting help out to him immediately.

Yet another good reason to always bring more water than you think you'll need - you never know who you might run into who needs it worse than you do. There's no reason at all to be unprepared for emergencies.

Thanks for the updated link Scorpionfan
I'll take the wise advice and not hike alone
Heck at this point I'd need an army to go in with me
