HOLA amigo JoeyW and everyone,

It was a heart-stopper when we spotted that tunnel entrance, I can tell you that. Yes we were following clues but mainly to help identify where to look; we did a lot of hand-panning of samples that had very little or NO gold before finding it; as you know the clues for the Arch mine are not clear or precise, and one word in there is absolutely wrong; plus the huge saguaro cactus that is supposed to be in sight of the mine entrance was nowhere in sight. Plus the two different versions in circulation, one saying it was a man-made arch of adobe, the other saying it was a natural arch, I can easily understand why it is so hard to find.

Thank you for the compliment amigo, it really shows that you CAN find those long-lost mines if you work hard and have a little luck.

Good luck and good hunting JoeyW and everyone, I hope you find the treasures that you seek.
Roy

You are welcome - but please don't ask me which word it is, Mrs O is still ticked off at me for ever writing about our finds at all, and thinks I said way too much. I don't worry too much even though nothing was ever done to hide it in any way because I know that people have walked within a quarter mile of it and never saw it - it is really hard to pick out. The one word being wrong is a common denominator in many lost mines and lost treasures stories, and is understandable for if every bit of the directions and clues were correct, the mines and treasures would not be lost. Something as simple as saying "left" when it should have been "right" can result in a rich bonanza going lost <almost> forever.

Good luck and good hunting amigo, I hope you find the treasures that you seek!

Welcome to DUSA amigo! Sure - here are the coordinates***
34° 17′ 10.04″ N, 114° 51′ 2.89″ W

<***For the TURTLE mountains, hee hee  >

I am a little surprised that we haven't had someone come forward and say they found it with Google Earth, YET. Likewise, no one has claimed to have found it, complete with pix, but saying that it is "all worked out" as so many have claimed to be the case with the LDM and LAD. Go figure, hmm?

I will leave that decision to you amigo - though he seems like the right kind on all counts, he may well snore like a buzz-saw!
