Hi Guys!

I need some education on natural Iron ore deposit

An acquaintance of mine went meteor hunting in the desert
This would be north west of Phoenix
Basically a magnet on the end of a stick operation
He immediately found small pieces of rocks that stuck to his magnet.
Then a pretty large magnetic rock ore was found
He said this magnetic material was in a defined path
Like maybe there is a seam of iron underground?
Or maybe like it natural water pathway where the material was washed too?

Anyway I’m pretty sure the material not meteor.
That being investigated
And its not man-made.
Its seem like it all natural occurring material

How significant would an Iron ore deposit be?
What other metals/ rare earths/minerals would be associated
with an iron ore deposit?

I went looking for a gravestone for an old treasure hunter that passed away (my daughters ferret). I may have found the source of the PSM's, I have yet to do the etching. I also picked two small stones that looked like meteorites. They would both stick to a magnet, and they would both cause a compass needle to move, just like a meteorite. When I did the streak test, I found that what I had was a hematite and a magnetite.

The streak test is done with a ceramic tile ( bottom part ), or with the tank top lid of a toilet (inside rough part). A hematite will streak reddish brown, and a magnetite will streak black, while a meteorite will not streak at all unless it is real old and rusty.

I also picked a pocketful of Moqui Marbles, I read that they are suppose to have healing powers and energies. There may be some truth to this since I did kind of feel young once again with my pocket full of marbles.

I read that this marbles may be splatter from a meteor, but other sites say that scientists don't really know how they were formed. I think they could be the work of prehistoric dung beetles.

I also learned that there are male and female. The round ones (which I just naturally picked) are the females. I may order a stud from Utah to put with my ladies.

I was reading on the board that a hematite seam
might be an indication of gold being about

The source of the hematite I had
is being hard to get specific directions to
the felllars who found it are concentrating on finding meteroites
I keep telling them that that source for hematite may be of some value

This is right up my alley the northern MN iron operations produce 75 % of all the us steel. The deposit runs about 3 miles wide and 120 miles long in a northerly direction. So its a narrow deposit some like how yours is. They mostly contain iron carbonates and iron silicates and are worth millions to us steel companies. Celevland Cliffs company is the worlds largest producers of iron ore pallets and Arcelormittal is the largest steel producer followed by US Steel. Well I hope this helps you out and get it checked out, its could be worth millions to the right company.

I've read some about the MN Iron Belt

as far as what those fellars found
I'm sceptical that a major iron deposit would be there
or that the county wouldn't know about it if it did exist

but that is large piece of Iron ore -hematite? they found
so I am real intersted in following up on it

I don't know as much about rocks as Joe does. They may have come from a mission floor for all I know.

We have red dirt here, and red sandstone in places. If we have any iron ore, it would be very little.

Sure is nice to dream that there could be gold underneath, but "quien sabe"?

I find it intersting that a meteorite doesn't have a streak color?
If its mostly iron and nickel ( as most meteors are) why wouldn't it streak?
just asking out of curiosity

I'm just taking a wild guess here, (too lazy to look it up on a Sunday) I would think it is because a meteorite is in a metallic state as opposed to the hematite, and magnetite that are in the "ore" state.
