Thanks Paul!

here's new style I'm expermenting with
Image

basically the stone is domed on each side
and a groove ground along the edge
this allows for wire to be wrapped around
and makes for a nice clean pendant

thanks for looking

That's a really nice design and should make for a fairly easy way to make pendants, earrings, etc...

The nice thing is you could change the shape of the stone in a number of different ways and if you're able to make the groove around the outside, still be able to use silver or gold wire to attach it.

Always nice to see your work

I really like the new design Ed! Very sleek and classic, should be great for showing off those stones that have a "busy" design! A nice thing to add to the repertoire!
I did some looking into the heart motif! I thought it symbolized an actual heart, but it is actually the female form seen from the back!! Kind of like the ancient Mother Goddess figures found in Europe. Very stylized and simple, but evocative!
Your long distance rockhounding buddy,

I've learned how to use the smiley faces! :P

Its so good to see you posting again ss
Obviously I'll keep you in mind with my new rock design ;)

I keep comparing the heart to arrowheads.
It the origin of the physical shape
Especially the Clovis point design.
& the obvious connection of the arrow to the heart.

But you've gone and let the cat out of the bag!
That's research you've done is esoteric knowledge.
Kudos !
I've secretly harbored that info for years!
I've even carved it into stone

Edd I found a strange outcrop I have never seen before in the superstitions...It has round balls all throughout. The balls are round some perfect, there are veins running through them that surface. I will post a photo of a couple Monday. They are a couple differant colors including Red,White,Pink,Black and Gray, plus a couple other colors..Do you have any clue as to what they may be...I also found some horned coral, very nice specimens....

Hello Silent Hunter can you put up some pictures of these marbles or minerals. I am interested in seeing them.
