Some where in my files I have some detail information on those old Colts. At one time I thought the story was probably just a story. Recently I have good reason to change my mind about the authenticity of those weapons. If they are ever discovered I would say they would probably be in good shape if they are still in wax. What a find that would be?

When was prospecting in the Super made off limits?
Hopefully I asked that question correctly !
I'm looking for a date when the govenrment made it difficult
to dig holes in the Supers for minerals.

Climbing down through Government Cave can be a bit nerve wracking. I wouldn't want to be in there in a small earthquake or tremor. We hiked down into it and to the end. I will never go into it again after realizing how earthquake prone that area is around the San Francisco Peaks.

I have been quite busy with several projects. When summer arrives I will have more time and I will post more of my old black and whites. I have over a hundred feet of 35 mm, but I have to scan them before I can post them. All of them were taken between 1948-1968 of the old prospectors that were around then and many of their holes. Also I have a bunch of my fathers I will also post taken even earlier. Take care and don't give up on me. Tom K.

Hi Guys

I was scanning old newspaper article on micro fiche at the library
I ran across this article from November 6 1968 Phoenix Gazette
Seems a certain Howard James was on trial for muder of his wife
The circustances being, that his 1962 Corvair drove off a 170 foot cliff
into the Salt River. His wife was asleep in the back seat.

That was the story Mr James told. The body and the car was found
the next day southwest of Roosevelt Dam in the Sa.Ri. off the Apache Trail.
The prosectution was maintaining that the injury sustained
weren't of the nature that would indicate that the lady
was asleep in the back seat. Besides Covairs were kind of small.

I just thought it was noteworthy
