Trip Report

So I just got back from a two day 200+ miles excursion into the AZ strip. After the consistent rains of last week there were some serious concerns about mud and washed out road conditions. The worst road we encountered was the 242 coming up from Mesquite up and over Lime Kiln Canyon. There were numerous washouts that would challenge a stock 4wd vehicle. There were signs of people already stacking rocks to make the trail accessible. We hit some muddy stretches mainly around Poverty Mtn & Mt. Trumbull. We did take the back Rte 1063 into Whitmore and Bar 10 Ranch. That ended up being a very scenic winding road that was a little steep when it dropped into the Whitmore valley. Paw's Pocket made for an excellent campsite and provided great views in the morning. Enough of the trip report, time for some photos!
