South American Deserts

Post by Arena »

I'm going to South America for a few months and I'm going to try to get out to the deserts. However, I won't have a car so I don't know how or what I will do to get there. If I manage to make it out there, I'll take pics.

Has anyone been to the Argentine deserts?

No, but I seen "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid". I don't think it's changed much over time.

I used to have a great picture on the hd of a computer I used to have. It was a playa in the Atacama, dotted with big clumps of beautiful blueish flowers. Now that I have seen purple sage in bloom for the first time I would have to say there is a remarkable resemblence. I would love to compare, but I lost that picture when that hd burned up.

i did a quick search on flickr for argentina desert and came up with more than 6,500 photos and some of them are of very cool places. i liked the one for what looks like a little desert town on a hill called purmamarca. it looks deserted. some of those pics look mighty inviting!
