He and his wife are still battling sidewinders on the home front....
It's amazing to me though how long it took he and I to be able to have a civil dialogue...
But in the end, he said that he would have rather called me to relocate the snake than have to kill it....
Now that's what I call progress!

Goldseeker posted on 5/8/09:Pepper Spray against BuzzTails is very effective when used properly. Proper use is to spray the BuzzTail's eyes from less than 12 inches for six seconds (;D...Why not just walk away?
TradClimber posted on 5/8/09:Less than 12"? Are you insane? and 6 seconds? Have you ever tried this? And was the bite venemous? unbelievable......
Goldseeker posted on 5/15/09:It is unbelievable, but I've been wrong before.

TradClimber posted on 5/16/09:This morning at 6:20 am when turning on the pool pump, I saw in the bottom of the pool a dead snake, its either black and white or black and yellow with rings on it (not stripes) its hard to tell thru the water but it looks about 6-8 inches long. I will take it out later and this time take pics. I dont know if I can post them here or not, but if not I could send them over to you. This is the 3rd one this year, every year I see this type and I want to know once for all what is it?
TradClimber posted on 11/10/09Although I'm no expert and I've been known to be wrong before, I think I can positivity identify this snake. It's the very dangerous Black and White Banded Mamba. It's habitat is in the dark recesses of our minds (;D

Could it be the rare and seldom seen Hoop Snake?
If it is a Hoop Snake, then that would make this an apparent range extension for the critter! Click the link for more information.

Note to Rep: I don't suppose you could back me up on this one?
Note to Goldfinger: Shoot this one on sight!
TradClimber posted on 11/10/09:Why? Are they especially dangerous; aggressive?
Are they in the Morongo Basin part of the Ca desert or somewhere in the Mojahve, Colorodo deserts? Where are they?
Goldseeker posted on 11/10/09:I'm no expert and I've been known to be wrong before.
But yes, the Hoop Snake is extremely aggressive and very dangerous.
They are the fastest snake on earth. Some have been clocked going downhill in excess of 40 MPH!
Rumor has it that they are all over the 29 Palms area.
It's habitat is in the dark recesses of our minds.
Gotcha!
Take care, my friend.
As for 40 mph, still not as fast as a bullet..
