This is interesting. I have to get on the internet to find out what's going on in my own town.
We don't get our newspaper until Wed.
I'm wondering why a State Park ranger would be patrolling a BLM trailhead in the first place? There are always vehicles parked there, I wonder what made him suspicious? I hope the ranger survives to make a full recovery. This is unbelievable, things like this just don't happen around here.

Here's another article with some photos.

My next door neighbor monitors the police scanner and said she heard the downed officer's call for assistance last night. It also sounded to her like the suspect had been hit, but there's no mention of that in the news.

Half the law enforcement in Utah is in the area now. Roads into the canyon downriver are closed, this guy has spent 2 nights out in the canyons, it rained last night and he's been shot. I 'll be surprised if they don't bring him in today, one way or another.

Dead Horse State Park
That is actually near Cottonwood Arizona.
I believe what should have been printed was: Dead Horse Point State Park (Utah).

Considering the recent weather and assuming this fugitive is still in the wilderness - he is probably an icicle by now.
