There were 2 Gold Dust Charley’s
Gene Autry made a picture show about this character
Then there was this character the one I remember most
I was wondering if anyone recall stories about them ?

Re: Gold Dust Charley
I can't see the picture from my work computer...
But I remember Gold Dust Charlie from the Wallace and Ladmo Show.
According to the text on this page, Wallace says that his show was a spin off from the Gold Dust Charlie Show back in the early fifties.

HEY TERRY:
I remember Gold Dust Charlie from Wallace and Ladmo also. My kids were regular fans and watched it all the time. I believe my daughter was on Wallace and Ladmo once. I knew Bill Thompson years ago. He is a big collector of miniature soldiers. I believe he created civil war battlefields in miniature. He was related to Boyce Thompson who founded the Boyce Thompson Arboretum near Superior and of course the development of the Magma Mine. My dad worked there in the late twenties before going to Christmas, Arizona. My Christmas present came by United Airlines monday. My daughter and grand daughter arrived from New York for Christmas and an Arizona holiday. It was 17*F when she left at 10 AM at Albany.
Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year to all you out there.

Hey Tom K
Just exactly where is Christmas Arizona, I think I drive by it when I go Arizona (which is frequently).

Greg:
Christmas is located on State Route 177 about eight miles NE of Winkleman and Hayden, along the Gila River. Christmas at one time was a rich copper mine. Discovered around Christmas time in 1903, or there about. And also a Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Thanks, Tom for your reply. Well I guess I don't go by Christmas on my way to Goodyear after all. I'm going to have to look it up and do a little reading about it. And you too have a Very Merry Christmas.

Yo Guys!
Bringing up Bill Thompson Civil War interests
Does anyone recall the black & white skit that
Wallace & Ladmo did of a Civil War re-enactment?
One of them is where Ladmo had to cross enemy lines to get coffee
Hilarious!

ED:
Yes, I remember the Civil War skit and yes it was funny. I watched most of the shows with my kids. That was our family hour on Black & White TV in those days. That was our first TV set. I didn't buy a color TV until the early 1980's. Do you believe that? Also we haven't watched TV since I have been retired because we are just to busy enjoying life. Take care Ed.
