Re: Roll call!
I'm sorta still here. My wife and I, well mostly me, decided we could do without internet at home so we canceled our service and just go to the local library whenever we feel the need to get virtual - which isn't all that often these days. So, I still check in here every so often, just don't have much to say I guess. But thanks for thinking of me, rep.

I haven't forgotten - I just need a few more days.I've just got back yesterday from an 8 day solo rafting trip down the Mighty Santa Rosa River. I'll do a trip report with lots of photos in the next day or two.

I'm still around...I visit almost every day but only log in on occaision.
I'm awaiting the next round of noxious discussion on topics that have been beat to death many times over.
Oh! And I'm trying to get a better-paying job. All I can say is that in this day and age, the experience of an overweight, balding, married-with-children white-guy in his 50's navigating a Southern California County HR system is a TRIP ! ! !
Best to all...

Re: Roll call!
I apologize for not checking in more frequently.
I loved Tradclimber's expedition on the Santa Rosa River. Made my reminisce of my great camping trips in the Santa Rosas years ago. Including a couple of weekends at the Santa Rosa Springs camp....can't recall that it fed a river.
Nowadays, our summer campout is with our raft for the grandkids up on the South Fork of the Kern at the Kennedy Meadows campground. Will be leaving a week from today. Anybody from here shows up, cool ones are on me at the Kennedy Meadows general store:

Then, in mid Sept, I'll be joining some folks for some camping and 4WD sightseeing up on the Arizona Strip.

Re: Roll call!
Oh no, Capt Trad I did read that part. Also makes me recall seeing the river all the way to the Salton Sea from Toro Peak many years ago. Apparently, sad to say, that is really off limits now. There always was a sign there but nobody paid it heed. Somehow now, folks are afraid to go up there and the USFS agents really discourage the short hike up there.
