I've seen this track a few times out here in Cactus Forest, Florence, AZ and have wondered just how big the snake would have to be to make this track.

The first three pictures in this album are the photos.

Any ideas?

Something big!
Either a large Gopher Snake or a large Western Diamondback Rattlesnake.
Or the off hand possibility of an escaped pet boa or python.

Yikes!!!
It looks like it's going from one cattle area to the one across the street where I occasionally see a Brahma bull.

Maybe it just ate the bull

Thanks

No Bull?

Rare footage of a massive snake in Indiana.

I'm sorry GC - it's OT, but too good not to share.

Having just seen a photo of Gila Monster tracks in sand, I am now thinking that is what you are seeing too.

It's certainly possible, but I think my guy was pretty dizzy because his track swished back and forth pretty much. Could have sworn I looked to the sides for paw prints like on a [huge] lizard or something. Didn't even think of the Gila Monster angle, though.

Looking at my picture again, still can't tell if there are paw prints or do they get obliterated when they move along?

It does look at lot like the second Gila track on that link, though.

Thanks,

PS
Found a nasty looking spider on my Rollerblade gear bag this morning as I was ready to strap them on. If I can't ID that one, I'll be back.
