That's interesting, I didn't even know they were building a bridge at the dam. What's the purpose? Too much traffic?

WOW!

Could you imaging driving across that in an 18 wheeler, or a 5th wheel pulling a large trailer on a windy day?

Shivers down my spine!

I don't think it would be as scary as the current road was back when you could still drive a semi over it. I remember watching them haul a semi trailer straight up one of the cliffs. It was full of toilet paper and it was everywhere! Another time a truck full of cases of Pepsi crashed right by Railroad Pass and the police were letting people take it just to get the road clear.

That bridge will be quite high above the river.

If you look at the 1st photo, it was taken from the road on the top of the dam, which is approximately 600+ feet above the river level.........and then the bridge roadway will be another 200+ foot above that, so that bridge is in the 800+ footlevel above the river.

I am surprised that you were not jumped on by men in sunglasses and black suits for hauling out a camera.

Watched a documentary about the building of Hoover/Boulder/Hoover Dam last night. Pretty interesting story. 65 men died in the construction due to the contractors lack of safety and health measures and wanting to get it done quickly to make more money. Could you imagine that happening today? The lawsuits! OMG.
One very weird coincidence, the first man to die was an engineer that fell out of a boat and drowned while scouting the river for a dam site and the last man to die was this guys son that fell from one of the intake towers and drowned - 14 years later, to the day - that his father died!
