Rafting Desolation Canyon, Utah

Postby yuccahead » Sat May 14, 2011 8:13 am

Last week I got a chance to raft Desolation Canyon on the Green River in Utah. It's about an 85 mile trip with nearly 60 rapids along the way ranging from riffles to Class III+. We hit the weather just about right, beautiful sunny days, no bugs with just a bit of rain on the last morning.
Here are a few photos -

Looks like you made the trip at the right time. Looks like lots of big horns on the slope.

That looks like a great time! Except for loading up in the rain... But heck, the rafting is cold and wet anyway, right? Does anyone wear a wet suit?

That is a very realistic spiny liazrd, but the bighorn art is even more facinating!
