Blue Mountain in Death Valley now has hiker registry

Blue Mountain high above Artist Palette in Death Valley National Park now has a hiker registry box on the summit as of September 5, 2018. This hike is not for the casual explorer as the route is not marked and passes up, over or around six dry falls, two of which are rather technical to ascend and descend. The elevation gain is often at the angle of repose over slippery scree fields. The exertion is rewarded by spectacular panoramas in all directions with the blue sky framing rainbow colored geology.
