RIP George Novak a hard rock miner

Lara Hartley let me know that one of our real desert characters has passed on - he and his stories will be sadly missed. RIP George Novak.
George Novak and his son Rock were hard rock miners who ran the little store and museum in the privately-owned ghost town Ballarat, Ca. near Death Valley. They lovingly look after the cemetery and entertain visitors with historical stories of Ballarat and the surrounding mountains' mining lore. This also was the the home of Shorty Harris and Seldom Seen Slim.
