Amazing that a stone can be cut that accurately and carefully with such narrow slices without cracking and breaking. Truly a neat skill!!

Re: Tiger eye from the valley
Ed I would gladdly give you a chunk if you would make a heart for me. I would give that heart to my mother. I am going to that spot this saturday and I will bring a back pack full home with me. Not all of it had the crystal looking chunks in it.

Dang Curt
if that is Tiger Eye
and
if there is more there
you may have hit a certain pay dirt!
Does it look hard enough to take a polish?
It really look like good stuff!
Good Luck
Paul
The owner told me this is his $75,000 rock that just sits there.
On further questioning he told me the tale.
The rock was quarried in Sicily and attempted to be slabbed in Italy
The slab cuts you see…well …are not cut always thru this behemoth!
The owner broke 3 diamond band saw blades trying to slab this rock!
With NO success! 3 blades at a value of 25,000 a piece!
He could not get a clean slab cut clean thru!
So he had the rock shipped to Phoenix be fancy a paper weight
So I wondering what is at the bottom third of this rock?
Some sort of tough metal? Is it magnetic?
I got my magnet & checked! Didn’t detect any force.
But I did notice that the rock had been cut clean thru on the end!
That was strange, Perhaps, the cut was with the grain? Not sure.
Like to meet the owner again someday and ask him.
Like I said I copped a piece of this rock it and made heart.
It was full of metal--soft metal Hematite, I think.
I’d like to get the heart made by Valentines Day Curt.
That means we’d have to turn on the rock pretty soon.
