Hey Lee,

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII doooooooooooooooooooon't know about thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!

Your giving Waltz a spyglass and a parrot? Why not a tri-cornered hat, an eye patch, and a peg leg? LOL

Seriously though, I don't recall any record of anybody that knew him mentioning a telescope OR a parrot. Although, if Old Jake would have had a parrot, I'll bet it would have been a Norwegian Blue! BEAUTIFUL PLUMAGE! ;)

................... also, if Jake would have had a telescope, he would not have had to try and describe where his mine was to Rhiney. He could have just said "Come here boy. Take a look through this and I'll show you my mine."

Best - Mike

what I heard is just the opposite
Dick Holmes had the telescope.
(or one of the many Waltz's interlopers).
They would use it track the Dutchman's movement from a distance.
I'm not sure about the parrot.

Post your photos to Photobucket or Imageshack, then copy and paste the link (for bulletin boards and forums) within your post on DUSA. Try to resize your photos to approx 800x600 px. before putting them on either photo hosting site, so that the result will not add to the width of the forum page on DUSA.

Lee the only problem with the sleeping squaw map is, that the original drawing and the map every one else seen are not the same...Tell me lee. did the drawing you see have a letter written on the back? And if it did tell me what the first word is? You do know that the area was the Bombay mine?
