New York Mts -- where are they?

West of Needles is the Providence Mts. but where is the New York Mts. in relation to the Providence Mts. and Rt. 40. Maybe someone could locate that region for me.

Thanks Jim: It looks to me like the area I want is between the New York Mts. and the Providence Mts. and that should be right on the Mojave Rd. Do you think the Mojave road is the dividing line?

The Mojave rd runs along the southern flank of the NY Mtns. If you have done the Mojave rd it was the range to the north as you drove across Gold Valley on Cedar Canyon Rd.

The Providence Mtns are the south end, then Mid Hills, then the New York Mtns to the north.

Are you going there? Did ya see some pictures of Caruthers Canyon? If you go I can point ya toward a few other interesting place on the same side of the Mtn range.

What map do you have of the area?

Thanks Steve: I'm just researching something right the moment. It has to do with the Chia Seeds. If you read that Desert Magazine article I posted you'll see why. Thanks for the info; I've been all around that area but never down the Mojave Rd. I use several topos I just thought they'd be closer together, and not being familiar with the area, needed to ask someone --- And thanks for all who answered!

Oh yeh, I'm not going to go there right now but in the near future and to another close place, I'll post here if anyone wants to meet up? Could be fun?
