Someone needs to break the ice..Perhaps an example of what would be considered acceptable and/or encouraged would get things started? Are multiple submissions allowed?

Good point Gus, and the answer to that is NO multiple submissions. As for an example, Space Cowboy is working on one right now! I'll bet you! You could enter any time you feel like it too.

Later when we do get an entry I'm going to delete these posts and have this just for the contest.

3) Keep it short

Short is kind of ambiguous. A couple of sentences is short to me, but 100 words or 500 words might be short to someone else. Perhaps a limit to keep us all on the same page, so to speak.

I will be fair and impartial. One note: You can not edit your story once posted, and no one should reply with corrections to another members entry! This would not be fair. You have the whole month of Sept to post your entry -- so make sure it's the way you want it when you post it.

Gus asked to see an example --- I don't think this would be fair. We want originality here! We're really interesting in seeing what you come up with.

Good idea Yuccahead -- 1200 words is the limit for story submissions on DUSA so we'll stick with that!

As soon a we get an entry -- I'll delete these message so the thread is only for posted entries!

I think you should not delete these messages, but leave them as a history trail for the posters.

Maybe open a new thread for the contestants submissions to keep them separate.
