I was looking at Google Earth and it appears that if Silver Lake (downstream of Soda) got to the 950 foot level the Mojave River would continue on to Death Valley

I've got nothing to add except that I got to see it. We crossed over the Mojave R. in Victorville Wed. afternoon and I nearly drove off the interstate overpass when I saw the water. My wife thought I was nuts but I'd never seen water like that in that riverbed, it was amazing.

I saw the Mojave flowing pretty good when my wife and I were living in Silver Lakes, I can't remember exactly when but it was sometime in the early nineties.
