When I heard of Jim’s passing-- I planned to polish a rock heart in his memory.
I wanted to get the rocks from the Superstition Mountains.

A couple weeks later Paul (cubfan) made a post about a rock hounding area he thought I’d like in the Superstitions.
This was really an uncanny occurrence!

The area he told me about was where the Peralta Stones were found.
What could be more appropriate?!!! To get stones from that location/

I went last Saturday and had a great time.
The 2 rocks that the heart are crafted from are: rhyolite and marble.
Just common rocks. But something caught my eye about them.
The bonus in my search was that I found that horseshoe.

So this is my tribute to DesertUSA Members.
You will be missed DUSABOSS!

Ed! That looks fantastic and the horseshoe really adds a nice touch! I'm sure Jim has a smile on his face seeing that. Great job.

Hey Ed, I'm a little late on this as I just found my login info. I'm sorry that I didn't get to know Mr. Hatt before he passed. I'm sure he is missed.

Very Huge heart you made for Jim.......I am sure that if you hiked in some remote location and left that as a monument...People would find it and talk about it for ever
