Just a few miles [...] In late May I spent an afternoon driving along the east coast of the Salton Seas and south to Niland, CA home of Slab City and the infamous Salvation Mountain. Since this road trip article is longer than most, I’ve divided it into three separate posts for easier reading. The Salton Sea was my first stop [...] After a short trip to the Salton Sea in late May, I came home with several photos of birds. The pelicans were easy to ID, but this Gull eludes me. I know it is a Gull, but what type? There seem to be so many varieties. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
