Range

Mojave and Sonoran deserts of southeastern California, southern Nevada, southeastern Utah and western Arizona.

Habitat

Sandy desert roadsides, washes and flats below 3,000 feet.

Flowers

Sparse pink flower heads, 1-1/2 to 3 inches wide, bloom at the ends of upper branches May through September.

Description

This slender, erect, branched annual, a member of the Sunflower Family (Asteraceae), grows 1 to 2 feet high. The sparse, lanceolate, hairy leaves are 1-1/2 to 3 inches long.
