On May 13th, the Department of Parks and Recreation released their proposed list of park closures due to a $22 million general fund budget cut. This list may grow, depending on the Governor’s May Budget Revision.

  1. This is outrageous. We know there is a budget crisis but how much will these closures actually save? While the savings make up just a small fraction of the State debt, the loss of these valuable recreational resources is huge – particularly for already hard hit middle and lower income families. Please reconsider closure of these state parks.

  2. WOW!!! My favorite park, Mt. Cuyamaca, is lukily, not closing. It is beautiful. Tanaja is also beautiful. Wow. SO SO SAD! I hate that Jerry Brown!! What an idiotic jerk, closing all these parks. Just stinkn’ charge!! Charge 35 bucks a night, and then you will make the money VERY quickly!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. So, since these parks are closed; our taxes will decrease, right?
    How about these morons in politics take a 50% pay cut? (That’ll happen)…
