BLM Offers Wildflower Tour at Fort Ord
The Bureau of Land Management will offer a tour to see early spring wildflowers on March 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Fort Ord Public Lands.
BLM Botanist Bruce Delgado and volunteer David Styer will lead this driving/hiking tour of early spring wildflowers. Hiking will cover one to three miles, mostly very gentle climbs or flat. The tour will view vernal pools, oak woodland and a maritime chaparral prescribed-fire area.
“There will be radically different, but all very special, wildflowers and vistas, rare plants and other native beauties,” Delgado said.
The tour is free, but reservations are required. To make reservations, contact Lynn Bomberger at (831) 375-7777.
