Re: 3 hikers from Utah now missing in the Superstitions

TY Ms Oro, that put it all into perspective, had the trail disappear on me a few times too. I don't have gps, or a map, I usually use the sun, and a few large peaks I can see for miles. I like the outdoors and would enjoy the Supers, but as you say, things get weird sometimes out in the wilderness. ...

Re: 3 hikers from Utah now missing in the Superstitions

I agree things happens. As long as it doesnt happen at the wrong place. You suspect Jesse had a lil push? I was not refering to Victorio Peak, but one of his other holes. Vicky Peak does resemble at least one site i have found. But Im too chicken to go in too far. Im dealing with small hills compare...

Re: 3 hikers from Utah now missing in the Superstitions

I think you are referring to determination. The fact that afterwards if we survived we tell ourselves we wont do that again. I dont hike for gold, I hike to meet personal goals. That gold is hide well, and you could be standing on top of it and still not be able to get it. I enjoy the stories I hear...

Re: 2 hurt during search for missing Lost Dutchman hiker

Yes, not a working plan can be hazardous to your health. I usually do short hikes, identify animal trails, and always have land marks I can see from far away. If you shoot a az mouth and know your directions, you can follow your self on a map when the lcd goes to mush. I hike trails a mile or so at ...

Re: all the stones and crosses including the latin hearts /r

I find your info about missions interesting. While the various signs have been used before and after Kino. You are talking about one period in this regions history. So I can respect that. My point to support part of this idea is I have found such figures, which have to be view at the right angle and...

Re: 3 hikers from Utah now missing in the Supers?

Jim, I have to disagree with you here. While I am sorry that they are missing, and I hope to God they all turn up just fine, I Get sick and damned tired of how often this happens. Not just in the Supers, but all over the Deserts and Mountains of the Southwest. I posted this on TNet, and I will repo...

Re: The FACTS Behind Jesuit Rules, Mines, and Treasures

Hello Jim & All: I found a Ted De Grazia Jesuit treasure map drawing that I have not seen before. This is not the same sketch or drawing as in the famous book “De Grazia and His Mountain The Superstitions”, page 21. which has been reproduced in this forum before. The map/drawing by De Grazia th...
