Re: Americans, who live in a desert climate, how is life there?
I live in Borrego Springs, California. My wife and I live here year round and love it. In 2018 and 2019 it hit 120 degrees in June and then you pretty much stay indoors. I’m outside a lot in the summer and you get used to it and handle it by keeping hydrated! It is special during the summer. Most of...

Super Bloom in Anza-Borrego
For those of you coming out this weekend there are portable potties being placed in various locations.
This will be the peak this weekend and the catapillars and heat will soon take their toll on the flowers.

Re: Here I am!
I remember some of your stories about staying in Ocotillo Wells! Sounds like you probably won't be visiting there much anymore, but at least you settled in the desert.
Welcome back!

It Thought "What a Nice House!"
Shook one slipper out last night and reached for this one. It was nice enough to stay for me to fetch the camera. It lives outside now!

Re: Dust storm in Borrego Springs
We had it hit us in the dark. We were sitting up on our deck and noticed a large darker area east of us. There was an eerie look to it and I said that if a wind starts up to go down below. The breeze started, we started putting stuff away and got nailed in about 30 seconds by it. Interesting having ...

We did go to Cathedral Canyon and saw the destruction that people have done to it. There's some good videos on YouTube that shows it complete. Pretty amazing place. Now it is horribly trashed.

I was in San Felipe Wash late Monday afternoon Aug. 13th and drove through wet mud! The next morning it was dry looking, maybe the heat draws the moisture up in the late afternoon. There was a bigger storm after the original posting.

Scorpions Living Under Water
My question is how long can they stay alive under water? Pulled a giant hairy one out of the pool early this morning, sat it on our table and it started to walk away hours later. Have no idea when it fell into the pool but I'm thinking it was during the early morn.
