Re: Are there other maps made out of stone?

OK,I am not a treasure hunter, and have never even seen a picture of these stones.my question is could these stones be used for rubbings ,in other words could these be originals that copies could be taken from ? DT, That's an original thought about them that I've never heard of or thought of before....

Are there other maps made out of stone?

(I brought this up in another thread and thought it deserved a thread of its own.) One of my biggest questions about the Peralta Stone Maps is why someone went to the trouble to make them to begin with? It truly baffles me. I've tried searching for stone maps and can't seem to find any that would co...

Re: Peralta Stones connection with the LDM?

Not Peralta, You definitely have found a rather interesting area full of cool stuff. Your theory about the river not having a name can easily be argued the opposite way. Also, the person that made the map may not have known the name of it. And even if you solve the stone maps, unless the "treas...

Re: Peralta Stones connection with the LDM?

Not Peralta, No, I don't see the map in your Heart pic. But, like I said, the resolution isn't that great. I couldn't even see the heart until I viewed it in fullscreen mode. From the looks of it, it appears to be an actual picture, not a digital pic. If so, maybe you can scan it in a higher resolut...

Re: Peralta Stones connection with the LDM?

Not Peralta, I re-viewed that pic in fullscreen mode, and yes, I do see the heart now. That's a pretty cool find. I don't see a map in the mountainside, but the resolution of the pic really isn't that great. Where about's is that located? You don't need to give GPS coords, unless you want, but I am ...

Re: Peralta Stones connection with the LDM?

Not Peralta, I wasn't able to see your pics via this site or on its FB page. But I was able to view them on your FB page. BTW, you should set that up as Group instead of a normal person's FB profile. It would change the whole having to add people as Friends in order to post and such. Also, when it c...

Re: Peralta Stones connection with the LDM?

Not Peralta, While I agree that the Stone Maps most likely have nothing to do with the LDM. IMO though, I have to disagree about the Stone Maps not being related to the Superstitious Mountains. As I stated in my post I started, http://www.desertusa.com/mb3/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2894, I find it ra...

Re: PSM and Weaver's Needle

Hooch, I'll let you provide the evidence. I can't find any, except for general mining exploration, which wouldn't have had any impact on the shape. I also refuse to believe that someone used enough TNT to alter the shape more than slightly. The Needle is absolutely massive, and that isn't counting t...

Re: PSM and Weaver's Needle

Hooch, The only info I could find about Weever's Needle being blasted was that there was some blasting done in an attempt to look for gold. I couldn't find anything about blasting on the scale that would change the look of the entire Needle. That would require a serious amount of explosives in those...

Re: PSM and Weaver's Needle

Somehiker, From what I have read, hiking to Herman's cave is more of an overnight deal unless you are in seriously good shape (hiking at that altitude is tough). I agree that a highly visible cave wouldn't be a spot to hide anything in, but I wonder what it looked like 100 to 200 years ago? It may h...
