Re: 7 best SoCal desert locations for night sky viewing
A road trip away from a city's bright lights on a clear night will be a treat for anyone who looks up to the skies. Here in Southern California, we're especially lucky to live in a place with some of the best night sky viewing in the continental United States. You just have to venture at least 100 ...

Desert Wanderer, That is a picture from the road across our property, looking south-west in Western Arizona, near Wickieup, roughly 55 miles south of Valentine, as the crow flies. Purty, ain't it? The story is great, the real-life theme is up-lifting, I think. I'd just like to know a teensy bit mor...

Re: Amboy Crater
Say, do they have to have handicapped access to the crater? This sounds like a potential lawsuit....? there are many potential ADA lawsuits on blm and nps land. and why do we call it land owned by the national park service. dang it, WE own the land. but i digress. :-) we need lawyers that are willi...

Re: Grand Canyon Rattlesnake
I do tours in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, and in the east part of the Grand Canyon, and that snake looks very similar to one I saw at Lees Ferry. Although the snake i saw was approximately 4 feet long and a little darker. Now I know what the species probably was! Cool!

Re: Have You Forgotten Sandman?
Thanks for posting the address, Greg. I definitely haven't forgotten him, either, and have been checking in at his family's website periodically to monitor his progress. It's heartening to see that he has come as far as he has, given the severity of the accident, and I'm betting on his determinatio...

Re: Have You Forgotten Sandman?
Hi Greg! Thanks for reminding us. I periodically check the blog about him. Sure hope he's able to get back on this website soon and hope he can get back to doing what he loves to do, and that's fishing, wandering and exploring in the far away places.

Re: Driving by the border
I hear it told that the law is almost verbatim with Federal law. Yet the Federal law has failed. No one can deny that. Perhaps now the root causes of the issue should be addressed. This is an older thread, but I'll enter some comments here. RPP0la, Good point made. I am Argentine, Italian, and Iris...
