Hi Jim: Not much for a first post,but Spanish Colonial beds usually featured a covering of oxhide,over a minimal amount of padding.The same piece of furniture often did double duty as a dining table.Oxhide is quite thick and tough stuff.Perhaps the miners were responsible after all and slept in ther...
