Re: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Anything related to the LDM

Brad nice to see a fellow prospector. I brought up that very approach at Dons Camp last year. Everyone looked at me like I had horns on my head. Hi Sgtfda, You might remember me; I was sitting near you at the rendezvous when you brought up panning to locate the LDM. Here was the point I was trying ...

Re: 8th. ANNUAL DUTCH HUNTER'S RENDEZVOUS

Hi Hunter, First, I must apologize for not responding. I wasn’t ignoring you – I simply overlooked your post. Dang! I hate it when that happens. As to the filming – it’s an outgrowth of my photography hobby. The camera in the photo is a Bolex EBM that I had converted to Ultra-16. But motion p...

Re: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Anything related to the LDM

Hey Guys, Here’s something that struck me while reading Crooked Mountain……. If memory serves (and it often doesn’t) Ron Feldman claims what he wrote regarding the Petrasch brothers in Crooked Mountain is factual and essentially accurate. Even if that’s not the case, this is still an interesting idea...

Re: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Anything related to the LDM

I gotta tip my hat to Double-Jack on this one.

And I believe the gauntlet has been cast down.

Best to All,

Re: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Anything related to the LDM

Hi Matthew, You bring up some good points. Thinking back, I believe that I learned more on my first trek into the mountains than I did in the entire year previous reading books. Hi All, Shifting gears here -> does anybody know the location of Ron Feldman’s Treasure Trove dig? I’m looking for somethi...

Re: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Anything related to the LDM

Hi Brad, First, thanks for that vote of confidence. I sometimes wonder if my ideas are so far out in left field that I’m not making sense to anyone. You are in a unique (and enviable) position to have been given clues from your Grandfather. Frankly, I would give my eye teeth to have four clues that ...

Re: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Anything related to the LDM

Guys, Maybe this should be on a new thread “Crooked Mountain” but I have no idea if this will take off or just peter out. So I posted it under general comments. While at the rendezvous I overheard someone say to Jessie Feldman “I enjoyed your book, Crooked Mountain” (for clarification, it was Jessie...

Re: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Anything related to the LDM

To answer the question of why not keep it a secret, it depends on what your goals are. I personally think the LDM itself is not worth much and is probably already played out. The reason I believe that is because Waltz downplayed the mine so much to Julia and Reiney. The caches are what Waltz told th...

Re: GENERAL DISCUSSION - Anything related to the LDM

Brad,

At the risk of sounding rude, and I assure you that is not my intention, I have to wonder why you would share your ore samples with politicians but you won’t post a photo of the ore (just a sampling of the ore, not the mine) for your fellow Dutch Hunters?

Best,
Ashton

Re: Herman Petrasch

Hi Guys, I recorded Dr. Glover’s presentation at the rendezvous. I remember it being about an hour long, so I don’t think there will be transcriptions any time soon. But here’s the synopsis (keep in mind this is going from memory and also my interpretation of what Dr. Glover said). Although Sims was...
