A hiker in the Superstition Wilderness found the body of a Phoenix man Thursday, December 31, who was later reported missing by his family, according to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman. Brian Tracey, 51, was found near Revis Ranch, about seven miles into the Superstition Wilderness, said the PCSO’s Tami Villar. The Pinal County Search and Rescue team, with the assistance of its mounted unit, recovered Tracey’s body on Friday, January 1. The cause of death is unknown but there are no suspicious circumstances, according to Villar. “There were no reports that he had been missing and his family had no reason to believe he was missing or in danger until Sunday when he failed to show up for a commitment,” Villar said. “ He was identified by his drivers license, which he had in his possession, and deputies attempted to locate next of kin at his last known address but he had apparently moved with no forwarding information.” On Sunday, the family contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report him as missing. It was then that the family was informed his body had been found.
