Trad,
Hopefully all 70 pounds wasn't whiskey! In any case, losing booze is a horrendous party foul! I mean, what happens when you are finally at your destination when you realize you don't have enough liquor for Cardinal Puff (or whatever your drinking game)?

That hasn't happen yet. I'm usually along on technical cliffs in 110+ degress, desert summer heat, photographing for days on end endangered creatures - Peninsular Bighorn Sheep. Use the search engine in DUSA at the top of this page on the right (it's your friend) for TradClimber and you'll see some of my photos.I mean, what happens when you are finally at your destination when you realize you don't have enough liquor for Cardinal Puff (or whatever your drinking game)?

I like Bighorns as well. Helps keep my stalking skills sharp. I can usually get to withing 100-200 feet (depending if terrain lets me approach downwind from above). Like this one from Anza-Borrego Desert:
This is about the closest I have been able to get so far dragging all my gear and my Pentax ist/DS. To give you an idea of how close I was, I was using an 18-55mm lens. After the third pic in this set, it went silent right before I snapped the next shot and they all up and bounded away.
Here is a blow-up of the three on the left..................BUSTED! LOL

Guys,
When the Sheriff gets back in town – you all are busted and I'm probably fired for being OT.
But since the cat is out of the bag... here's a few pics of Peninsular Bighorns from last Saturday.
All photos by TradClimber on 3/19/11 in a remote area of the Santa Rosa Mountains.

Well... It's all too good to delete. But when you guys are done. I will probably have to find (or make) a place for it in the Desert Plant and Animal forum, and move it over there before Terry (Reptilist) complains that the TH'ing forums are treading into his territory.TradClimber wrote:

Unless... Someone can come up with and post a photo of a Big Horn Sheep being airlifted from one place to another, and make up a story to go with it, about how he was rescued from an area of certain death, and relocated to an area where he could live out his days in comfort. (A Rescue mission with a happy ending)
Best,
Jim
