The Quartzsite Gem and Mineral club in Quartzsite AZ is a favorite place for snow birds to learn new skills, or share their old skills with others, while taking in the sights at the boondocking capital of the US.

The Quartzsite Gem and Mineral club has extensive shops for lapidary, jewelry smithing, faceting, lost wax casting, knife making, stone carving, flint knapping and more, with classes being taught in these areas.

Meeting of the Quartzsite Gem and mineral club are weekly on thursday afternoons during the snow bird season from late October until the end of March.

come to Quartzsite for the flea markests and Sports Show and drop in and say hello.

Since no one wants to post I wil.

I am also familiar with the Old Pueblo Lapidary Club out of Tucson, AZ, they are on the North side of town. The old Pueblo Lapidary Club is about half the size of the Quartzsite Club with approx 300 members, and many of the same facilities and classes of Quartzsite. The OPLC has a lapidary/cabbing room, silver shop, lost wax casting facility, saw room and faceting room. The Faceting guild of the OPLC hosts an annual facetors hob nob in early January while the gem, mineral, and fossil shows are in Tucson. Their Web site is http://www.lapidaryclub.org/
