Fossils In Millard County, Utah

Post by Inyo »

Over at http://inyo2.coffeecup.com/fossilmounta ... ssils.html I recently uploaded my latest paleontology-related page--"Fossils In Millard County, Utah." Describes two world-famous early Paleozoic Era fossil localities situated in the eastern Great Basin Desert: the 505 million year-old trilobites in the middle Cambrian Wheeler Shale; and the roughly 485 to 470 million year-old early Ordovician invertebrate fossils (brachiopods, gastropods, trilobites, echinoderms, and bryozoans, among others) from the Pogonip Group (a geologic association of six separate rock formations), as exposed in the Ibex district. Includes detailed text, plus photographs of fossils and on-site images, as well.
